Career Technical Education (CTE)

cte

What is CTE?

Career Technical Education allows students to explore careers through skill building and participating in worked based learning opportunities. This supports students in making informed career and postsecondary education decisions.

WPUSD offers 12 different pathways through 6 industry sectors. CTE pathways provide a coherent series of classes that begin with introductory material, continue with a concentrator course and end with possible certifications, post secondary education, or internships.

Along the pathway, leadership, 21st century skills, and career exploration are folded into their experiences. CTE teachers are informed about current industry practices through their industry partners and advisory boards.
